Timber and Steel Frame

Ballytherm Timber and Steel Frame Board is satisfactory for use as insulation fixed between the timber studding, in conjunction with a dry lining system or insulated sheathing facing the cavity, and is effective in reducing the thermal transmittance (U value) of external walls of conventional timber or steel frame dwellings up to 18 m in height. It is essential that such walls are designed and constructed to incorporate the precautions in this Certificate to prevent moisture penetration, including the requirement for a vapour control layer (VCL) on the warm side of the insulation and a breather membrane over the timber sheathing in conventional timber frame dwellings.
